Now VLM (actually SHS Antwerp Aviation n.v.) has ceased operations, all
remaining assets are for sale: apart from the three F50’s (OO-VLS, 20109; OO-VLQ,
20159; OO-VLI, 20226) also spare parts, the Airline Operators Certificate, slots
for Zürich and London City and the rights to the name VLM and the logo are
offered.
Insel Air
of Curaçao, which has three F50 in the fleet, is in the process of being taken
over by regional partner InterCaribbean Airlines of the Turks & Caicos Islands.
The end of the Fokker 100 era in Switzerland is coming closer as Helvetic
Airlines (still operating five F100's), has ordered the Embraer ERJ 190-E2
as the new standard aircraft of the fleet. Delivery is expected to start in late
2019. |

The Finnish Air Force has used three Friendships, one of these was FF-2
(11300). After having been withdrawn from active service in 2004, the airframe
was donated to the WinNova Technical School, whose department for aircraft
engineering and maintenance education is located at Pori airport. The Friendship
is used as an instructional frame and looks in a pretty good shape. It has
received ‘Winnova’ titles since.

Pori, July 17, 2016)

The newest Jetways Airlines F50 freighter, 5Y-JWC (20118), still sports
the basic livery of Magic Bird Cargo that was applied back in 2007.

Jubba Airways
of Somalia operates at least two F50 aircraft, of which this 5Y-JAF (20261) was
acquired in 2016.

Leading Edge Air Services Corporation
(Leascor) recently took their third F50 into use. It is the former Transnusa
PK-TNS that is now registered as RP-C9981 (20307). (ChinJH; Kota Kinabalu,
September 9, 2018)

Not of the highest quality, but extremely rare is this shot of Tarco Air
F50 C5-MAM (20335). (AswinMochamad at Intagram; Khartoum, August 27, 2017)

Former Biman Bangladesh Airlines F28 S2-ACV (11124) that after its flying
career had been in use for training purposes by the Aeronautical Institute of
Dhaka, is now being scrapped (photographer unknown; Uttara, Dhaka, August 2018;

Pelita Air
Fellowship PK-PJY (11146) was in storage for many years at Pondok Cabe airport
in Jakarta and was in a poor condition. Recently it was taken apart and
transported by road to a location in the Purwokerto region, central Java, where
it will be converted into a restaurant (AswinMochamad at Intagram; Jakarta,
September 8, 2018)

Twenty-two F28 Fellowships that have been in use with Norcanair, Time
Air and Canadian Regional are stored at Saskatoon airport for some
years now. Part of the airframes are next to the AeroLogistics America hangar
(Joseph Hollick; Saskatoon, September 8, 2018); the others are in a remote
location at the north side of the airport.

The present owner granted the Time Air Historical Society an opportunity
removing parts for their F28 restauration project. Unfortunately the condition
of the first Time Air F28 C-GTEO (11991) was too poor for complete restauration,
so the Society has to find another Fellowship. Before C-GTEO was eventually
scrapped by 240918 the airframe was already missing many parts (Time Air
Historical Society; Saskatoon, September 17, 2018)
