Antillean airline Insel Air suffers financial difficulties for some years. A
Curacao court has now decided that the airline gets a final chance to reorganize
and clean up the finances. Before December 4th Insel Air needs to demonstrate
that it is economically healthy, otherwise the airline will be liquidated. |

Former Air Nordic Friendship SE-KZD (10245) has been on the move for a training
outside the airport. On 161018 it returned to continue its job as Eelde
airport’s fire brigade trainer (Simen Dorschman; Groningen, October 16, 2018)
The one-but-oldest F50 still flying has started a new life after its 20-year
long career with VLM. Amapola Flyg has leased SE-MFP (20105) to Braathens
Regional Airlines, it was painted in their full colors and started service
221018 from Kristianstad to Stockholm (Krister Karlsmoen; Stockholm-Bromma
October 22, 2018)
Besides 5Y-MIS (20111) of which we had a picture in our September issue (#11),
Maandeeq Air also appears to fly with 5Y-SMT (20177), according to a photo on
the internet (JubalandTV; Kismayo, June 10, 2018)
Somali airline SOM Express Airways is operating 5Y-JXK (20233) out of Mogadishu
on domestic services. The aircraft is leased from Skyward Express and is now
adorned with titles and logo (Baashi Ali Hashi; Galcayo, October 23, 2018)
According to their website, Freedom Airline Express operates two F50 aircraft
for charters, amongst which this 5Y-FAI (20282) in an inconspicuous corporate
livery, (PuntlandPost; Kismayo, December 2017). The government of Somalia is a
regular customer of the airline for VIP transportation.

The latest addition to the large Alliance Airlines Fokker fleet is VH-UQB
(11483). The picture shows it landing in Brisbane completing the ferry flight

Air Mali. A consortium of three Dutch historical societies is trying to
raise 0.25 million euro for transporting the oldest existing Fellowship
back to its home country and displaying it in a museum. This F28 has had
an active career of more than 30 years and flew with some 20 operators.
The airframe is in open-air storage at Bamako, Mali for 17 years now and
needs to be removed due to reconstruction of the airport. |
