    General News
 
Fly Allways has recently added a weekly F70 service from Port-au-Prince (Haïti) via Port of Spain (Trinidad) to Paramaribo.

After the crash of one of their Fokkers, Bek Air is considering moving to Kyrgyzstan or another country, now the Kazakh CAA continues the suspension indefinitely.
Another consequence of the crash is the withdrawal of Bek Air's IATA designator code Z9.

According to the Kenyan newspaper The Star, Silverstone Air Services is on the brink of collapse two months after suspending passenger operations. Most pilots
and ground staff were laid off. Three passenger F50s have been wet leased to Maandeeq Air. Also Somalian airlines Som Air and Salaam Air are believed to have
leased F50 equipment from Silverstone, but it is unclear which aircraft are concerned. Silverstone cargo operations continue with three F50 freighters.

 
 
     Fokker F27, Fokker 50 & Fokker 60
 
 
After Business Express had withdrawn N143PM (10109) from active service, the aircraft was stored in Florida and changed owners numerous times, without moving for more than 20 years. The local fire brigade has used it for training purposes. Currently it sits abandoned in deplorable condition.

Merpati took factory-new Friendship PK-MFQ (10623) into use in 1982, operated it until 2006 and then parked it, prey to the tropical climate. The cockpit was used to build a F27 flight simulator, which is in the hangar of Merpati Maintenance Facilities; the pictures show external and internal views.

Friendship with construction number 10632 started its flying career in 1983 with TAM in Brazil, was sold in 1999, and converted to freighter operating for Farnair in Europe. In 2012 Asialink Cargo Express bought it and used it for some years as PK-KRA. Now it is stored at the Merpati parking in seemingly good condition,

In December the VNCE (Foundation for Flying Dutch Cultural Heritage) acquired a civil registration for their ex-US Army Troopship. As N27FF (10668) the aircraft is currently waiting for all paperwork to be completed before the transfer flight to The Netherlands can begin. Apart from the registration, the logos of two major

The 60 years of existence are clearly discernable on Fairchild F27J N222DG (031). In 2003 Empire Airlines, the last operator, donated the aircraft to the
Museum of Mountain Flying
in Missoula, MT, USA and despite intentions to preserve it as part of the collection, it is slowly perishing outdoors
.

10246 200   10246 Philippine Air Force. The remnants of this Friendship were noted 101119 in very poor condition in the Air Force City Park, close to Clark Air Base in the Philippines. The wreck is visible at Google Earth at 15.174870, 120.542886.
10378 500   5Y-GMD Aerospace Consortium. An error during loading the aircraft caused a tail stand at Mogadishu 131119.
10493 400   1770 Guatemala Air Force. Seen at Guatemala City La Aurora 011219, looking intact but very dirty.
10610 500RF   D2-ESN SJL Aéronautica. Seen at Rand airport 311219, probably for maintenance.
533 227B   HC-BXC Austro Aereo. Seen 090819 at Cuenca airport, Ecuador. The aircraft is stored there since 1997, incomplete; it is used by the fire brigade as training object. Its location at Google Earth is -2.888732, -78.985240.
20181 050   9S- Gomair. Seen 011019 at Kishasa N'djili airport, all white without registration, waiting for entry into service.

20284 050   VH-FKY Alliance Airlines. After complete scrapping in 0919, the fuselage and other parts were brought from Adelaide airport to Sims Metals for recycling.
20306 050   VH-FKW Alliance Airlines. This F50 had made its last scheduled flight 060319 from Adelaide to Olympic Dam and return as QQ3214/3215 and was then withdrawn from use. It was ferried 311219-010120 from Adelaide via Darwin and Surabaya to Singapore-Seletar as SXI1963.
 
 
     Fokker F28, Fokker 70 & Fokker 100
 


Celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, the Philippines Government Fellowship 1250 (11153) is still in active service and looking perfect.

Montenegro Airlines celebrates their 25th anniversary and have adorned their aircraft with a special sticker. The single F100 in active service 4O-AOM (11321) also
sports the ‘25’ sticker on the nose. (Johannes Wirl, Frankfurt, December 29, 2019)



It is not known when Merpati Airlines took F100 PK-MJC (11463) out of service, but its current condition in a corner of Husein Sastranegara airport makes us believe

Another F100 in special livery, since Alliance Airlines had their newest F100 fleet addition VH-UQG (11520) painted for commemorating the unsuccessful speed
record flight by Sir Charles Kingsford Smith from Wyndham, Australia to London in autumn 1931 in his Avro 616 Avian called Southern Cross Minor, also with

11074 1000C   TC-52 Argentina Air Force. This retired Fellowship was reactivated, using parts of TC-54 (11018) and TC-53 (11020) and ferried 271219 from El Palomar to Aeroparque Jorge Newbery.
11153 3000   1250 Philippines Government. Seen active 201219 at Davao airport, Philippines.
11305 100   VH-FZO Virgin Australia Regional Airways. Made last commercial flight from Karratha to Perth 041219 as VOZ1728. To be scrapped.
11339 100   N339JT Odyssey Air Finance LLC, registration cancelled 17-12-2019. The airframe was the very last F100 on the USA register, after it operated with Mexicana Click as XA-TKR until 2010 and was stored since 2016 at San Marcos Regional for parting out. 
11359 100   VH-UQP Alliance Airlines. Seen stored at Bratislava 140120 in basic Austrian livery.
11407 100 4L- 9A-BTD Flywings (Georgia). Delivered from Tekirdağ to Ahwaz 10-110120. Apparently the flight plan was for Dubai and Kuwait, but the aircraft landed in Iran. Supposedly it is destined for Karun Airlines.
11459 100   VH-VKN Alliance Airlines. Parked at Brisbane in full Helvetic livery, engines removed and VH-registration on stickers. Supposed to be for parts only.
11466 100   VH-VKO Alliance Airlines. Parked at Perth in full Helvetic livery, engines removed and VH-registration on stickers. Supposed to be for parts only.
11467 100   VH-NHY Network Aviation (QantasLink). On 090120 flight QF2650 from Perth to Newman experienced a runway excursion upon landing in bad weather. There were no injuries and the aircraft was not damaged. 
11475 100   EP-FQI Qeshm Air. Seen at Tehran-Mehrabad 091219 in new color scheme.
11478 100   VH-VKP Alliance Airlines. Parked at Brisbane in full Helvetic livery, engines removed and VH-registration on stickers. Supposed to be for parts only.
11496 100   UP-F1007 Bek Air. Crashed into a building during take off in icing conditions at Almaty airport, as Z92100 destination NurSultan. There were 98 people on board (93 passengers, 5 crew), of whom 12 died and 66 were injured. The Kazakh civil aviation authority immediately suspended the airline's Air Operator's Certificate. 
11501 100   VH-VKQ Alliance Airlines. Parked at Brisbane in full Helvetic livery, engines removed and VH-registration on stickers. Supposed to be for parts only.
11520 100   VH-UQG Alliance Airlines. Ferry flight 100120 from Norwich via Bratislava, and delivery flight from Bratislava via Hurghada, Al Ain, Nagpur, Penang, Surabaya, Darwin to Brisbane 15-190120 as SXI2003.
11528 070   PH-JCH Last operator was Insel Air, current owner not disclosed. Registration cancelled 301219, after more than one year without valid certificate of airworthiness. The aircraft is stored in Willemstad, Curaçao since January 2017.
11559 070   ZS-SKA flyEquator. Seen 291019 at Jubba airport, white with small titles and tail logo.
